If you are concerned about bacteria, then this is the cartridge for you! A 10 inch 0.5 micron nano silver sintered carbon block designed to effectively kill bacteria and remove chlorine and volatile organic compounds such as pesticides. With the remarkable technology of nano silver combined with the 0.5 micron capability of the carbon filter, it will kill bacteria commonly found in tank, bore and well water. In a climate where our drinking water supply are at an all time low, the threat of bacterial infection in our water supply is greater then ever. The water treatment technologies used in our capital cities are not immune to bacterial infection as evidenced by the outbreak of cryptosporidium in Sydney in July 1998. Sydney residents, paying through the nose for their 'clean, healthy water', were told the water was unfit to drink. They heard the water was teeming with the nasty bugs giardia and cryptosporidium, dangerous parasites that could make you seriously ill, even kill you.
