This great value pocket sized volt stick will detect and trace live wires (50/60Hz) as well as sources of electric fields from appliances. It can also be used to:

• locate live electrical wires inside or behind plaster, drywall, wood, paper, plastic, etc.
• detect a break in an electric circuit (Christmas lights, extension cords)
• check wires, fencing, appliances, fuses to see if they are energized
• remotely check high voltage power lines
• check spark plugs and distributor wires of operating automobile engines

Includes an LED indicator light, audible intensity signal, rotary on/off switch, and pocket clip. Whilst it doesnot give you a numerical readout, it will tell you if high electric fields are present or not. Red LED lights when field is detected and audible tone gives indication of field strength and frequency. Rotary switch permits adjustment of sensitivity. Requires 2 AA batteries.
